Watercolour,  15″ x 22″     The winter after my partner died, I noticed this bird’s nest which had been hidden by foliage all summer but was exposed to the world in the winter. My grief felt like that bird’s nest. It’s hard when feelings are laid bare and there is nowhere to hide from them.
