I used a brayer to apply the background layer. It creates great texture for a dragon. Then I painted around the dragon, adding the yellow glow and the detail later.

I started painting dragons in March 2020…who knows why…but they quickly became a visual representation of our COVID-19 battles. Since then, I’ve branched out, creating all kinds of dragons in various media. The magic of fantasy is so much fun, I’ve set a goal of 100 dragon images.
